  1. Heavy meal -  Do not eat heavy meals before your massage takes place, because you will feel uncomfortable during the massage session. Eating heavy meal will also make you feel tired
  2. Alcohol - Do not consume alcohol before your massage treatment to ensure you are safe and to get an effective experience. Also alcohol can cause dehydration and affect your body’s ability to relax. It can also impair  your judgement. 
  3. Schedule your massage way ahead of time - It is not recommended to book your massage appointment at the last minute as it causes you stress and may affect the massage experience as a whole.
  4. Arrive at least 10 to 15 min earlier - It is recommended to arrive at least 15 minutes to do the necessary paperwork, so you can complete the form, to change and allow time for the consultation as well.
  5. Shower before the massage. Whilst it is not necessary to get a shower before the massage, it is a good idea to practise good hygiene habits. And so the therapist is comfortable during the massage session.
  6. Intense physical activity - Do not do any intense activity before the massage because it can affect the effectiveness of the massage and can even cause harm to your body. You may also feel discomfort during the session as the muscle may be sore and sensitive.
  7. Phone or electronic devices - it is recommended not to bring any gadget, phone or electronic devices during your massage appointment because it can be the source of distraction not just for you but also for the therapist. So leave your phone on silent to help you fully relax and enjoy the massage without distraction.
  8. Communicate with the massage therapist- It is very important to communicate with the massage therapist about how you are feeling to tailor the message based on your specific needs and to avoid unnecessary and potential injury.
