Nowadays, people are getting busier and stress has become an inevitable part of daily life at least for most people.

There are many ways to manage and release stress, one of them is massage therapy.

Massage is one of the popular and effective methods for relieving stress and promoting relaxation.

It is not only that  it feels good, but it can also have a great impact on our body's physical and emotional state.

Massage Therapy can reduce muscle tension to stimulate and release of feel-good hormones, this therapy has a unique ability to help people unwind and find a sense of calmness.

  • Massage therapy can relieve stress and can help stimulate and produce Oxytocin. What is oxytocin and what is the importance of it in our body.

Oxytocin is a hormone that human body’s naturally produce, and it can often be referred to as the “Love Hormones” or the “Cuddle Hormones”.

Human body releases in response to different stimuli such as human touch, social interaction, and positive and happy experiences, this plays a role in bonding, trust, and relaxation.

In short, oxytocin can be thought of as a messenger that helps us feel good, connected to other people, and experience a sense of well-being.

When we receive a massage, our human body releases oxytocin, which can help reduce stress and anxiety levels.

  • Massage Therapy can relieve stress and it helps us to activate the parasympathetic nervous system. What is the parasympathetic nervous system? Parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) is also known as the human "rest and digest" response.

This Nervous system is responsible for slowing down our heart rate, breathing, and blood pressure, which has a great effect on our stress body.

When we receive a massage, either from our loved ones or from a professional massage therapist,  the pressure and rhythm of the massage strokes can stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system.

This allows us to relax and be in a state of deep rest, that can help reduce the levels of stress hormones in our body, such as cortisol, and promote a sense of calm and balance. What do I mean by Cortisol? Cortisol is a hormone that is produced by our body's adrenal glands in response to stress. It is also known as the "stress hormone" because it plays a role in our body's stress response system. Cortisol mobilises energy and other resources in the human body to help us deal with stress, however prolonged exposure to high levels of cortisol can have a negative impact on our health, such as increasing the risk of anxiety, depression, and other health problems.
